Your Guide To Getting Ready For Easter's Indulgence

Enjoy Yourself and Don't Deprive

I absolutely don't advocate depriving yourself. Enjoy some delicious food, wine and little chocolate this Easter, but make sure that you are not still eating easter eggs weeks afterwards! This also goes for the lead up to easter as well. Enjoy yourself over the long weekend without the guilt but keep your wellness goals in short sight.

Quality not Quantity

It's best to choose a chocolate high in antioxidant rich cocoa made with real cocoa butter.  Look for a high cocoa percentage, at least 60% but the higher the better. The higher the percentage the more antioxidants! Avoid adding ingredients such as milk solids, hydrogenated oils or fats used instead of cocoa butter and emulsifiers such as soy lecithin. My favourite chocolate brands for easter are Loving Earth and Pana Chocolate. Banjo Bear Carob also does cute eggs for the kids with no added sugar!

Movement

Keep moving over the Easter long weekend to balance out the extra indulgences as well as improve lymphatic function and digestion. A little movement will go a long way in making you feel more energized, less lethargic and keep you motivated.

Hydration

Make sure you keep hydrated with plenty of water and herbal teas. It's especially important to rehydrate if you have been drinking lots of alcohol and/or coffee. Adding a sachet of Vida Glow's flavoured collagens can help satisfy sweet cravings, assisting in hydration as well the overall appearance of your skin.
