The word ‘cleanse’ or ‘reset’ can set alarm bells off in our minds of strict diet regimes of juice cleanses, food free diets or worst…feeling constantly hungry. The idea can make us feel a little uneasy in doing a cleanse and have us running for the hills rather than running towards the veggie aisle. Luckily, we feel the same which is why we have created these delicious breakfast options to cleanse your body and to refocus the mind in a way that is enjoyable instead of daunting.

Pumpkin Waffles
Full of the antioxidant beta-carotene, pumpkin helps with healthy glowing skin and support of our immune system.
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 Scoop of Cacao Berry Beauty Mind
2 ¼ cups (200g) Oats Flour or Wholemeal Spelt Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
¾ Teaspoon Pink Rock Salt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
3 Tablespoons of Flaxseeds or Chia Seeds with 6 Tablespoons of water to make a paste / jelly
⅔ Cup Coconut Milk
7 ½ Tablespoons Coconut Oil, melted
122g Cooked Pumpkin(steamed or roasted), pureed
3 Tablespoons Honey
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
Suggested toppings: honey, nut butter, toasted nuts, berries, banana, whipped coconut cream.
Method
Preheat your waffle iron (we like a Breville Electric one).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the oat flour or spelt flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Mix well until combined.
In a medium mixing bowl add, flax/chia seed mix, nut milk, coconut oil, pumpkin purée, maple syrup and vanilla extract together well.
Pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon and mix well.
Pour batter onto the heated waffle iron, enough to cover the centre surface and still be able to close the lid without splitting over the sides.
Once the waffle is golden and crispy, transfer to a cooling rack or baking sheet. Don’t stack your waffles on top of each other or they’ll lose crispness.
Repeat with remaining batter and serve with desired toppings on the side.
